It didn't solve my problem. Basically CopyTrans removed ITune icons, etc then reinstall Apple Software Update not a "temporary iTune" as stated in this video, you have to download iTune from Apple website again.
After trying all of the online advice, I simply switched from the generic usb cord I was using to the one that came with my iphone. itunes recognized my phone right away on my android tablet.

Or you could try plugging iPhone into different USB port. That's what ended up working for me after every other "remedy" failed.

i have an original ipod touch, version 1.1.5…everytime I plug it in, my computer tells me that the usb device cannot be recognized and itunes says it cant connect to the ipod touch because an invalid response was received from the device. i followed the prompts to uninstall, restart, redownload, restart but nothing…i also restarted the apple mobile device service and same messages…could it be because the ipod has such an old version? i dont know what else to try, should I reset my ipod?
